Commercial Week - Kylie Minogue For Agent Provocateur

If you're going to feature lingerie commercials, how can you not highlight this 2001 gem starring a woman who seems have been born to wear lingerie, Kylie Minogue for Agent Provocateur? I'd suppose it had even more impact when shown in movie theaters, especially if you didn't already know what her tag was going to be. Have a behind-the-scenes look as well:

Ell & Cee

You may have noticed a lot of news out of the U.K. this weekend. Unless a certain new bride is found to have purchased something from this brand, they probably won't be included in the millions of words, but the attention did remind me I've long wanted to do a post on the U.K.'s Ell & Cee.



Notice I didn't say 'lingerie brand'. They've expanded into other items as well, but they started with beautiful lingerie, and happily haven't left it.



I suspect Ell & Cee = the L&C in their founder's name, Laura Cloke. Read more of the story here on their website.



I don't know if it's a British charm or just the classic/vintage look of their designs, but if you were to try and describe typical beautiful lingerie, coming up with any of their sets would work well. They also seem to have a knack for using lace and sheerness.

Michelle Trachtenberg In March Maxim

You many know her as Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl. Or you may remember her as Buffy's little sister Dawn Summers on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Through if you do, you probably wouldn't remember Michelle Trachtenberg as you see her in the March 2011 issue of Maxim. (of course, if you're about the same age as Ms. Trachtenberg, maybe you wanted to remember Dawn this way..)



Ms. Trachtenberg's also in the movie Take Me Home Tonight with Topher Grace and Anna Faris, opening March 4th in the U.S.

'It’s exciting. I know that everyone at my high school who used to torture me and bully me is going to get a copy of it, so I am thrilled. That is going to be really exciting ..I was rather flat-chested in high school, so I was picked on all the time. I think I have made up for it. Maybe a bit late, but they’re here now.'

fufL Valentines Week 2011 Wednesday

Irina Shayk - Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Girl 2011

Talk about your Top Ten. Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman, ten of the lovely ladies in this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition took part in Dave's Top Ten List. Hilarious? Um, not so much, but that's not always the point. I think it's just kind of cool to see these models in a different light (my girlfriend adds, 'and dressed'). I'll settle for 'on network TV with a speaking part, no matter how silly'.



The above is an abridged version; to see all ten ladies and Irina Shayk's reaction when she found out she was on this year's cover, check The Late Show website. She'll also be a guest on tonight's Late Show. My reaction? I'm genuinely happy for her and all of the models for the .. exposure, if you will, but call me when SI decides to do a Lingerie Edition. I haven't yet seen the Swimsuit issue, but I doubt many of the I'm sure great photos will match the simple beauty of Ms. Shayk displaying the above bra and panties from Intimissimi Though, if it got her and the other models a great beach vacation? Gravy for them.

A Merry Marlies Dekkers Christmas

This one is no secret, but it's a Victorian-inspired series of Christmas collections more people ought to know about. They're called Christmas Crackers, Christmas Baubles, Red Xmas and Key to Deliverance, from the highly imaginative Dutch designer Marlies Dekkers



Not only do you get a touch of the Victorian, but if you look at the entire collection, a sly bit of the Dickensian also emerges.
