T-Shirt & Panties Week: Hilary Swank
Hilary Swank in black & white. I don't know if it's the eyes, that smile, or the white cotton ribbed tank top and panties - this photo may be in black and white, but it seems radiant enough that you'd think it's in color.
P.S. I had already written and planned this post when I came across this story. My girlfriend said something similar as one of the commenters: 'I wish I was not that pretty as her'(No worries; she is). My take: Ms. Swank is in front of cameras for a living. The woman who said what she did? In front of a microphone. Read it 'in context' and you make the call.
Classic: Raquel Welch 1960's
This post was inspired by two things. One, this post from A Slip of a Girl and my dad's early memories of Raquel Welch. Slip's post reminded me that when Ms. Welch was on a bunch of talk shows last year plugging a new book - and I can see how she got the title -, my father happened to mention remembering a certain affection for her when he was quite young, and she was on TV and in movies a great deal. I happened across this 1960's-vintage promotional photo of her in my travels around the net. I'm beginning to relate to that affection. Enough to see the wisdom of it being worthy of a post, and to consider a few more 'Classic' posts in the future. Black and white or color? Or should those photos be in Technicolor, as the below shot from the same session seems to be?
I'd dedicate the post to my dad, but since he doesn't know about this blog..

Happy Solistice From Caroline Winberg and Blanco
Another marvelous image of Caroline Winberg from Blanco's Fall/Winter 2010 Imprimir Collection, photographed by Hunter & Gatti. December 21st was either the shortest or longest day in the world, depending on your hemisphere. The light backing Ms. Winberg just seemed like it would fit either way. Almost as fit as Ms. Winberg and her bra and thong panties.

The lovely willow that is Caroline Winberg is the face and body of Blanco's Imprimir 2010 Fall/Winter Collection, photographed by Hunter & Gatti. They all have down some great modeling, design and photography before, but this collection and campaign, especially the black and white stills, are really amazing.
Adriana Lima: She's Back

Amber Valletta: The Lingerie Model Next Door
Check this cast: Jackie Chan, George Lopez, Billy Ray Cyrus and Amber Valletta. They're all in a movie opening today called The Spy Next Door. Why do I feel the need to add: 'No, I am not making this up.'?
Ms. Valletta's been building quite the nice acting resume' for awhile, so it's not that she's in a film; it's looking at the assembled cast of a film with the tag lines 'Spying is easy, babysitting is hard' and 'Part spy, part babysitter, all hero' that seems a bit loopy. (In fairness, it's supposed to be a fun comedy you can take kids to. Or watch on DVD in three months chugging a beer every time some kid character does something that results in a 'grownup' character getting hit in the nuts.)
So, I doubt Ms. Valletta will be in the above wardrobe, but you can thank the movie's release for prompting me to fix a huge oversight on my part. Amazing as it seems, somehow, we'd neglected to ever do a fufL post about Amber Valletta.
Alessandra Ambrosio Helps Us Celebrate 600
I'd like to say Ale called to wish frankufotos Lingerie a Happy 600th post (as of Monday's for Memorial Day), but I'm pretty sure Ms. Ambrosio has other things on her mind. Such as, raising a daughter less than a year old while still looking better than 99% of us ever will.
I couldn't decide which of the two photos to use, so, thanks to indecision, you get both. The color photo is for Victoria's Secret's new stretch lace panty. Did we mention Ms. Ambrosio's been a Mom for less than a year? Actually, yes, we did. One more thing to mention; aside from hitting 601 posts as of today's, we've now passed 506,000 hits, and well over one million page views. Thanks so much to all who've read fufL over the past almost-three years, to all who've commented, to the lovely models whose photos fill our pages, and especially to the many (often un-named, but certainly not untalented) photographers who've made the images possible.
Now, if I can just convince my girlfriend/fellow lingerie enthusiast to guest-write a post before we get to one million hits.. (oh, I'll be in trouble for mentioning this, but it will lead to some fun making it up to her..)
Caroline Winberg Rides Again
What are you doing for fun this weekend? You could try a few interesting things like Sweden's Caroline Winberg in her shoot for the October 2008 edition of Arena magazine. For some reason, it's just difficult to imagine her shouting 'Yee-hah!'
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Girl Bar Refaeli - Don't Forget She Does Lingerie, Too
True, it's a great honor for a model to be on the cover of The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. 2009's choice is Israeli beauty Bar Refaeli. (Hey, look; she obviously didn't get any tan lines during the shoot..)
While the above cover of Ms. Refaeli barely contained and peeling her bikini bottoms down is more than a little striking, let's recall a basic fact. A swimsuit is meant to be seen in public. Maybe you won't see her or anyone looking close to her at your local pool or beach anytime soon, but it's still, if barely, apparel for public consumption. Lingerie on the other hand, is, despite some relatively recent fashion trends, by nature intimate. Think of it as meant for private consumption, then.
Seeing Ms. Refaeli or anyone else undressed as such is then a more intimate experience. Or, just go with the 'Forbidden Fruit' idea. One of the reasons this is a lingerie blog, and not a 'hot swimsuit' blog. Not that there's anything wrong with that idea; it's just, given the choice, we'll continue to celebrate the fact that Ms. Refaeli and others look fantastic in their underwear and aren't shy about demonstrating that fact.
Rebecca Romijn Joins The Ranks of VSMs; A La Perla Reprise
Congratulations are in order for Rebecca Romijn and her husband Jerry O'Connell who became proud parents of twins Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip December 28th. True, we're a little late to getting around to the salutations, but we'd been meaning to use these photos from a fantastic photo shoot Ms. Romijn did for La Perla a few years back for an even longer time.
Stop and think about the career she's had. I recall her as one of the first lingerie models I saw in a Victoria's Secret catalog I'd 'borrowed' as a kid having his first stirrings of interest in seeing ladies in (and out of) lace, she was featured in several Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, she hosted House of Style on MTV, was quite the memorable guest onLate Night with Conan O'Brien where she was a great sport as Conan would almost hulk-out in lust over her (until her first marriage to John Stamos, and Conan got married as well and started to behave himself.. not as manically funny, but her appearances with him still held their charm), she was also on Just Shoot Me, Mystique in X-Men and it's sequels (blue body paint and pasties, anyone?), and most recently she had fun playing a transsexual(!) in Ugly Betty. Not that I saw much of that performance, but she often seemed like she was one good button pop away from showing off some lingerie, there, too. Because she's become a VSM, have we seen the end of her?
I'm guessing only in the sense of the above photo..
This Victoria's Secret Is Armani
Victoria Beckham ( by this point, do we have to legally still say 'AKA Posh Spice'?) is the new body for Armani lingerie.
Giorgio Armani described Ms Beckham as: "a stylish and intriguing woman," adding: "Great underwear is alluring and provocative, and so I wanted to work with someone who would make a real impression."
You could argue she got the job through connections, considering she is married to one of Armani's other underwear models. I'd argue they got her through connections. And A> since it's not the first time fufL has featured the Beckhams barely dressed and B> I realize this blog does have a substantial female following, we'll include the following illustration of the point:
Well, yes, Mrs. Beckham gets the larger photos. I might not mind trying Armani briefs myself, but I'd still rather see them on her than him..
Battlestar Galactica's Back; Tricia Helfer's Front
Battlestar Galactica returns this Friday night, January 16th in the U.S. on SciFi with their final ten episodes. Yes, we'll finally find out who the last Cylon is. Yes, you'll still be able to see Tricia Helfer on new and future seasons of USA's Burn Notice, starting January 22nd. And, Yes, this is an extremely good excuse to post these photos of Ms. Helfer missing her blouse, but showing a refined taste in her black bandeau bra, skirt, stockings and heels. As we've demonstrated before, Top Chef host, actress and author Padma Lakshmi also looks fantastic in lingerie. While surfing the web, you may have noticed several remarkable features of Ms. Lakshmi's front view. You'll notice here that a great panty can remind you not to neglect the other side of the coin. In the U.S., the fifth season of Top Chef debuts tonight on BRAVO.
