The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. 2009's choice is Israeli beauty
Bar Refaeli. (Hey, look; she obviously didn't get any tan lines during the shoot..)
While the above cover of Ms. Refaeli barely contained and peeling her bikini bottoms down is more than a little striking, let's recall a basic fact. A swimsuit is meant to be seen in public. Maybe you won't see her or anyone looking close to her at your local pool or beach anytime soon, but it's still, if barely, apparel for public consumption.
Lingerie on the other hand, is, despite some relatively recent fashion trends, by nature intimate. Think of it as meant for
private consumption, then.
Seeing Ms. Refaeli or anyone else undressed as such is then a more intimate experience. Or, just go with the
'Forbidden Fruit' idea. One of the reasons this is a lingerie blog, and not a 'hot swimsuit' blog. Not that there's anything wrong with that idea; it's just, given the choice,
we'll continue to celebrate the fact that Ms. Refaeli and others look fantastic in their underwear and aren't shy about demonstrating that fact.
