Amber Valletta: The Lingerie Model Next Door

Check this cast: Jackie Chan, George Lopez, Billy Ray Cyrus and Amber Valletta. They're all in a movie opening today called The Spy Next Door. Why do I feel the need to add: 'No, I am not making this up.'?



Ms. Valletta's been building quite the nice acting resume' for awhile, so it's not that she's in a film; it's looking at the assembled cast of a film with the tag lines 'Spying is easy, babysitting is hard' and 'Part spy, part babysitter, all hero' that seems a bit loopy. (In fairness, it's supposed to be a fun comedy you can take kids to. Or watch on DVD in three months chugging a beer every time some kid character does something that results in a 'grownup' character getting hit in the nuts.)



So, I doubt Ms. Valletta will be in the above wardrobe, but you can thank the movie's release for prompting me to fix a huge oversight on my part. Amazing as it seems, somehow, we'd neglected to ever do a fufL post about Amber Valletta.

Vera Farmiga - Lingerie, No Body Double

Vera Farmiga is currently starring with George Clooney in Up In The Air, getting multiple nominations (Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, Entertainment Weekly expects her to get an Oscar nod). Though her character is seen naked from behind, Ms. Farmiga made it clear that was a body double since she's a new mother, and thought that would be a better way to go. After looking at the above photo, and seeing the movie, no offense to her body double, but maybe a little lingerie would have been in order - and maybe just about as hot?

Zoe Saldana: Uhura, May We Please See Your Bra?

By now, is there anyone who doesn't know J.J. Abrams' reboot of the Star Trek franchise is opening in a good part of the world this weekend? (fufL even told you about it as far back as November 2007).

Among the cast, and perhaps of most interest to this blog, of course, is Zoe Saldana starring as Nyota Uhura, who may not be a lieutenant in the new movie's time frame, but she'll certainly have a bit more to do than open hailing frequencies. Not that Nichelle Nichols didn't do that quite well in the original TV series, but I always liked the fact she got to kick a little Mr. Adventure ass in the movies. Speaking of Ms. Nichols, we pause this post, with no disrespect meant for Ms. Saldana for this photo:



Damn.

Onward, and back to Ms. Saldana:



True, these images from an Esquire shot she did awhile back aren't lingerie-only, but we'll enjoy them just the same..




The new cast are signed for two sequels, so Ms. Saldana can be prepared to put on - and, perhaps, take off her Starfleet uniform for awhile longer. Not that she's a stranger to uniforms, or all things Trek; witness a moment of her performance in the Tom Hanks movie The Terminal..

Maggie Gyllenhaal 'Shocked' at Underwear Pics

Maggie Gyllenhaal has revealed that she was shocked to see pictures of herself in her underwear after posing for Agent Provocateur.

The Secretary actress, 30, modeled for the lingerie firm's 'The Adventures of Miss AP' campaign, but said she was unprepared for what the job entailed.

She told Metro: "Somehow I hadn't understood that there'd be all these pictures of me out there in my underwear. I did it as an art project. ote>

"They asked me to do it and I said yes, but somehow I never put that together with the fact I’d have to stand around in my underwear getting my picture taken. The pictures are very tongue-in-cheek and have an irony about them, it’s not the same as doing a Victoria’s Secret ad. I felt like I was playing a character, someone who wasn’t me."

However, she added that she and her husband, actor Peter Sarsgaard, were thrilled with the final product, saying: "I was looking at them with Peter, saying: 'I don't look like that - that underwear is really good!'"

'That underwear' may be good, but perhaps Ms. Gyllenhaal needs to reassess her opinion of herself. Wonder what the chances are she might be similarly (un)attired as Rachel Dawes in the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight, opening this week (July 18th in the U.S.)?
