Time flies; it's August, and I haven''t gotten to half the extra photos from last year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show I'd been meaning to post. Somehow, based on August where we're based being a Summer month, the above ..confection?.. carried off by Candice Swanepoel seems more fitting now than at the holiday season when the show appears.



And, if Ms. Swanepoel in this outfit doesn't make you reconsider the sexiness of full-sized briefs, I don't know what would. Another illustration to a point I've long made about lingerie: It isn't the lingerie that that makes the girl; it's the girl that makes the lingerie.



Now, about that bonnet..

The 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Maybe it was a change in venue to the newly refurbished Fontainbleau Hotel on Miami Beach, but The 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show just seemed more colorful and energized than in past years. Not that there was anything wrong with those shows, but at about the half-way point during the Pink portion of the show, my girlfriend and I expressed the same thought to each other: this year was just damn fun. It had been right from when Adriana Lima started it off along with Usher. And, despite the expresssion on his face, I don't think he was seriously worried that Heidi Klum would get too far with his hat.



Speaking of Ms. Klum, yes, Alessandra Amrbosio is the recipient of this year's Honorary HK Yes-I-Just-Had-A-Baby-A-Few-Months-Ago-And-I-Look-Smoking-Hot Trophy





Selita Ebanks truly working her Angels wings as well as the runway; Karolina Kurkova illustrating that lingerie is, indeed, something which can be unbuckled..



In the aforementioned Pink portion of the program, Erin Heatherton somehow managed to incorporate fun, hottness, a great green bra, and the fourth Doctor Who's scarf.

Angels Selita Ebanks, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima take some well-deserved bows at show's end. You may say, "What? That's all?? Where's (fill in the name of your favorite model not mentioned), Frank U idiot? This is the third year of fufL, and this was perhaps the hardest post-Show post to write, because, with 35 models - and over 400 pictures I collected, narrowed to 72, then to 30, then to what you see here, the question becomes, what can you possibly leave out? I could go on writing it until 6am, and you'll already get carpal tunnel scrolling though it as is. I write the post after my girlfriend and I watch the show in real time and compare notes (no, she will not add anything to any blog posts, though she knows she has a standing offer). The upside of so many more pictures, models and outfits we didn't get to? Future fufL posts. And, as always, your comments are welcomed.

I stumbled onto your site and couldn't be more pleased! I'm digging your thoughts/comments on each post and, of course, the pictures.
Being a VS aficionado of sorts, I was hoping you could help me locate pictures of the (I believe) $10 million dollar bra worn by Heidi Klum years ago in a VS catalog. My teenage memory of the image is still quite lucid. Am I in luck?

First off, Jay, thanks for reading frankufotos Lingerie. Secondly, not knowing your age, thus your 'teenage memory', I can't be sure to which year you may be referring. Ms. Klum had Fantasy Bra Honors in 1999, 2001 and 2003. (Tyra Banks modeled them twice, in 1997 and 2004; Gisele Bundchen twice in 2000 and 2005).

So.. I guess that means we have to post pictures from all three years starting with the 1999 $10 million Millennium Bra..



In a catalog picture might also stay with you, Ms. Klum barely in the 2001 $12.5 million Heavenly Star Bra and matching panties..



..and, only because this is a backstage photo from the Fashion Show, not from the catalog, I'll disqualify this one of Heidi in the 2003 Very Sexy Bra.. otherwise, I'm sure you're not disappointed to see it, also with the matching panties.

Undressed Rehearsal: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008

Several of the Victoria's Secret Angels gathered in New York at the beginning of the month for lingerie fittings in preparation for this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Angel Marisa Miller has been fitted with invisible Angel wings, or a really good imagination.



Why is it you never see some jobs listed in the Employment section of the paper?



Newest Angel Doutzen Kroes is apparently trying out for the road show of a musical based on Xena, Warrior Princess. Amazing how Gabby's costume still keeps shrinking..

Adriana Lima Is Your $5 Million 2008 Victoria's Secret Fantasy

As reported by London's Daily Telegrah:

The bra, which also boasts white diamonds and rubies, weighs 1,500 carats and is believed to be one of the most valuable items of underwear ever made.

Two tear-shaped black diamonds, with a combined weight of 100 carats, hang down from the middle.

The one-off bra - which contains 3,900 gems in total - is modeled by Brazilian Adriana Lima in the Victoria's Secret Christmas catalogue.

It was created by Martin Katz, the rare gem jeweler who has worked on previous luxury lingerie for the firm.

"This year, I've really enjoyed working with non-traditional gems," he said. "So, what better avenue, to showcase nearly 3,600 black diamonds than on the most extravagant holiday gift."

He added: "Designing it for a gorgeous Brazilian supermodel wasn't exactly a let-down either."

Don't hate Mr. Katz because he's one of the luckiest jewelers on the face of the earth. Ms. Lima will be modeling the Fantasy Bra during this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show December 3rd, this year from a new location in Miami. Proving that sometimes, the words Collector's Edition may actually mean something. The September 2008 issue of the U.K. edition of GQ Magazine has a story with about as full an access you'll get to the backstage goings-on at last year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Happy National Underwear Day 2008!

A cheap excuse for an underwear and lingerie site to sell more underwear and lingerie? Meh; could be, but who cares? As frankufotos Lingerie demonstrated last year, National Underwear Day also provides them an excuse to have people who are clearly made to wear underwear do it in public in New York City's Times Square.




So, if you haven't had a good reason to go out and get something new for under whatever drabness you may have to wear at work or classes, here's your chance.
Just make sure you get to compare it with another special celebrant's of the day later.

It's supposed to be 88 degrees and Partly Sunny for this year's event. At least the lady isn't be overdressed for the heat. Those photographing her may have more problems than needing sunblock, though..





They have 'changing tents' if you'd like to try on a new pair of underwear. The above member of the Working Press I'm sure is just in the midst of fact-finding with the model in his boxers.. um, is that a camera in her hand..?



The gentleman flanked by some of the lovely models and lingerie of the day above is Michael Kleinmann, the president of Freshpair.com and co-originator of National Underwear Day. If you ever run across this man, you owe him at the very least a Guinness , if not a year's supply of Guinness.
