Diesel Would Like Your Attention

We're betting they already have it. Diesel's Fall/Winter 2010 Collections of just about anything, but for our purposes, especially their 'Intimates' are being promoted by the tag-line/theme of Be Stupid (Go ahead, click the link. It would be stupid if you didn't).



Aside from hip hipsters and pretty panties, they're also hawking their shades and other eyewear, which seem to afford some degree of privacy. As private as it gets when you're stripped to your camisole and panties with balloons and candle-lit cupcakes on a subway train, anyway..



If she had just read this post before a few books from her local library, she may have felt less exposed if she'd worn shades instead of her specs.
Of course, if you're looking for better reading material..

Happy National Underwear Day 2010!

Hopefully, you're wearing something special in celebration (and all those who insist commando is the way to go, go along just this once.. sort of like everyone being Irish on St. Patrick's Day).



The folks behind it, freshpair.com, are having their celebration on-line as opposed to taking over New York City's Times Square (above and below) as in years past (can't rain, no expensive NYC permits, parking's better, no one catches a cold, or gets arrested, right?) Considering we hold a celebration of lingerie and underwear on-line all the time, makes sense to us.



They also did a little research this year, and uncovered the following:

24% of American men have a lucky pair of underwear
40% of men prefer briefs and 10% boxers;
the rest either are wearing trunks, boxers briefs, thongs, or nothing

34% of American women match their bras to their panties
26% of women prefer bikini briefs
21% of women prefer briefs
21% of women prefer thongs
18% of women prefer boyshorts
4% of women prefer other styles
(so that's who's been buying bloomers..)

For those who don't care for the Nothing option, through August 14th you can enter to win part of 5000 pairs of underwear (as we speak, my girlfriend is not doubt signing up for a couple hundred more email accounts..)

By coincidence, just in time for this year's celebration, Kylie Minogue (no stranger to lingerie) has a new video that reminded those behind the celebration of panties and boxers of days gone by as well..

Happy National Underwear Day 2009!

It's the 7th annual celebration of all things under-clothes brought to us by the fine folks at Freshpair.com. I run a non-commercial blog, but, let's give proper credit where it's due.



They're trying to do more of a month-long, on-line celebration this year for those of us who can't make it to their runway show in New York City's Times Square. Even though it's been moved inside, enjoy a mix of a few pictures from years past:





Barely There is one of the participating brands, not her pleasant state if undress; though it again proves 'the touch, the feel, the fabric of our lives' can be a very nice one. While Googling around, I found this 2006 picture of a Trends Analyst from a Cotton, Incorporated press release. Do you think this woman looks forward to going to work at least one day of the year? I do.



News this year? An age-old question has pretty much been decided, as explained by Freshpair.com's president, Michael Kleinmann, talking about the results of their latest survey: "the boxers or briefs debate has been put to rest with three times the number of men choosing briefs over boxers. For women, bikini briefs are the most popular style."




Not that my girlfriend and I have to follow the latest trends, but it's nice to know we were actually ahead of the curve in our personal choices some years back.

BTW- Mr. Kleinmann would be the lucky (clothed) guy below who thought of this annual Day in the first place. No fool, he.



Now- go forth! Celebrate National Underwear Day by wearing something special under your clothes (especially if someone special can see it later) or by buying some special panties for yourself or a loved one. National Underwear Day: The Brazilian Edition

You've heard about National Underwear Day in the United States; apparently, Brazil has their own celebration each February.



They just look like two groups waiting for really different buses, don't they?

Do make sure you take some literature on the event..





And, have you noticed how the tourists are really dressing down these days?

A cheap excuse for an underwear and lingerie site to sell more underwear and lingerie? Meh; could be, but who cares? As frankufotos Lingerie demonstrated last year, National Underwear Day also provides them an excuse to have people who are clearly made to wear underwear do it in public in New York City's Times Square.




So, if you haven't had a good reason to go out and get something new for under whatever drabness you may have to wear at work or classes, here's your chance.
Just make sure you get to compare it with another special celebrant's of the day later.

It's supposed to be 88 degrees and Partly Sunny for this year's event. At least the lady isn't be overdressed for the heat. Those photographing her may have more problems than needing sunblock, though..





They have 'changing tents' if you'd like to try on a new pair of underwear. The above member of the Working Press I'm sure is just in the midst of fact-finding with the model in his boxers.. um, is that a camera in her hand..?
