I was looking for an especially nice photo for this post not only for Valentines Week, but also because this happens to be the 1000th post of frankufotosLingerie. My girlfriend and I went through more than 100 finalists, narrowed from many more candidates, so I hope it strikes the same chord for you as it did for us. Thanks for supporting the blog for over four years by your readership and comments; it's appreciated.

If she looks vaguely familiar, it may be because her line's model is her sister, Charlotte Emily Anne (Gill). You also can't log onto her site and not appreciate the wonderful photography and web design. Both are by an apparently multi-talented man by the name of James Kemp. A great addition to imaginative lingerie.

Anything But 'Hopeless' - Happy Hunting

Unless they mean as in hopelessly beautiful, the small, hand-crafted lingerie maker from Melbourne Australia may be misnamed. Hopeless has made some of the more imaginative lingerie you'll find since sisters Gabrielle and Dominique Adamidis founded the label in August 2008. The above Cheryl black silk bra and silk knickers (amazing how much classier the term 'knickers' sounds while writing about this label) are from their new collection, or range as they call it, The Hunted.

You and I may find our inspiration in many places, but believe it or not, as explained in their wonderful blog, Spokes and Daggers, designer Gabrielle's inspiration for the collection came from director Sam Raimi's 'Evil Dead' and 'Evil Dead 2'

'I took inspiration from the evil force that races through the forest, the wood grain of the haunted log cabin and of buckets of blood featured in the films. These ideas were subtly woven into every piece - to create a collection that was both haunting and beautiful.'

Umm.. OK, the lingerie is beautifully done, it works, so who am I to argue? It also explains why the pieces in the set had to be named Ashley, Cheryl and Linda..

I've been a fan of the brand since I first discovered their blog, and not that the other ranges weren't well down, but this one strikes both my girlfriend and I as their best yet. The only downsides? True, a bit pricey, but do you really expect originally designed hand-made silk lingerie for the price of a five-pack of panties at Wallyword or even Vicky's? Didn't think so. Also, it's not for day-to-day wear. However, if you're into building a serious (and seriously beautiful) collection on lingerie, check them out. At the very least, you'll be inspired.

Red and Green from Gilda and Pearl: Not Just For Christmas Anymore

So, what if it's August? Would you rather wait until December to see this beautiful Redhead in this hand-made emerald-green silk and lace Rendez-Vous set from the U.K.'s Gilda and Pearl? Didn't think so.

So, I keep hearing bodysuits are coming back ("Finally!', my girlfriend adds from across the room). Looking at this sheer body suit from Lise Charmel, you may wonder why they ever went away. True, you won't see this one worn to work as a top with jeans, but for a night out, imagine the floral accents peeking out from, say, a black or dark blue silk blouse.
Or later when the skirt or jeans are gone, how the rest of that sheerness will look when worn with just the blouse.. for awhile.

One For My Girlfriend

I truly, truly wish I could tell you why my girlfriend is going to either laugh out loud or kill me when she sees this post. Although she does have several pairs of ribbon-tie panties in her collection, No, the picture isn't of her. Like every other image on fufL, it's just one I found while surfing - and I think I found this one a few years ago (honest!) If I post anything tomorrow, you'll know I've been spared, or at least still well enough to get to the computer..

Bra Fake-Out

No, not the type that involves misleading you about what a bra might contain, but it's actual appearance. Lingerie, commercial model and aspiring actress Cinthia Moura demonstrates a great feature of the bra and panties set above. To wit: with the proper (or, in this case, improper) blouse, she may lead one to expect a hott, lacy black bra and panties set were she to disrobe, when in reality her lingerie would be even hotter. My girlfriend is not one to openly flash too much lace in public, but I'm happy to say she's pulled off - so to speak - a similar arrangement for my eyes only more than once.
